β€˜Oh what a night!’ A conversation with Sal & Im from the β€˜Good Mourning’ podcast with their dear friend Jo Betz was a fabulous success for the local community of Geelong and beyond!

What an absolutely AMAZING evening we had with Sal & Im from the β€˜Good Mourning’ podcast who joined local author Jo Betz to chat about their stories and outlook on grief, loss, friendship and so much more. Not only did we have a sold out event, but we had people from not only the Geelong community, but people who traveled from Melbourne and Ballarat to hear Sal and Im talk.

Sal and Im along with Jo, generously shared what they’ve learned from so many amazing people throughout their time making a successful podcast and the guests they have have had on in their three years of being on air, the process of writing their first book, their own stories of grief after losing their Mums and finished the evening by taking questions from the audience. Not content to finish up there, they spent the next 45 minutes signing books, talking with people individually and taking photos.

I personally couldn’t have asked for anything better to start off my Mental Wellness Co. platform than working with Sal, Im and Jo as well as it being a fundraiser for an organisation close to my heart Hope Bereavement Care, a local non profit who represents all people affected by grief in the Geelong and surrounding districts by providing information, support and counselling services.

This evening was made possible by the support of Melinda Hopper from Hope Bereavement Care, Stacey and Connie from the Book Grove in Ocean Grove, The Holiday Inn Geelong and my wonderful photographer on the night, Jodi Ladhams.

Thank you to everyone that came along to support me, especially my beautiful family and friends xxx

It’s a β€˜It’s in the bag Packing Party for Share The Dignity’ An amazing collab with Endo Geelong and Geelong Illustrators

Wow!!! What a morning for our β€˜It’s in the Bag Packing Party’!!! So many great donations for the @sharethedignityaustralia campaign Thanks so much to Kat from @endogeelong for jumping on board this project with me and to Rachel @pinchiegram from @geelong_illustrators for opening up her space for packing the bags this morning and for collecting donations in the weeks leading up to the event.

To all the wonderful helpers and supporters, THANK YOU SO MUCH for making someone’s Christmas a bit brighter this year, we packed 36 bags for women, Teens & Mums & bubs in need, so needed and so appreciated! The Bunnings Leopold staff couldn’t believe it when we rocked up with a boot full and I believe the Bunnings Waurn Ponds staff were equally blown away!!!

Plans are already underway for next years event to be bigger and brighter…can not wait!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

I just want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for helping me get Mental Wellness Co. up off the ground.

It truly is a passion project for me and I am so excited to see where I can go from here. Trust me, there are lots of ideas bubbling away in my brain just waiting for the right opportunity to come to fruition.

Next stop is applying for Not For Profit status, I have put the paperwork in and I am waiting for it to be assesed and HOPEFULLY approved. This will give me greater scope to do events as I will be able to apply for grants to help me fund them properly. Stay tuned!
